OG Clara Cameron touched the lives of many people through her kindness, warmth and adventurous spirit. Now, one of those whose life she impacted is undertaking an extraordinary challenge in her memory.
Albert Williams, who met Clara in Kenya while taking part in the Africa Gap programme, will be cycling the North Coast 500 to raise money for the Epilepsy Research Institute UK. Covering 516 miles around the north coast of Scotland, the route is one of the country's most iconic endurance challenges.
Reflecting on his motivation, Albert said:
"I met Clara in Kenya as she was my gap manager on a programme called Africa Gap. We travelled together for two months until she sadly passed away from an epileptic seizure. She had a big impact on me, as well as many others, with her zest for life and kindness."
Clara's enthusiasm for life, sense of adventure and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Albert's challenge is a fitting tribute to her memory and an opportunity to support vital epilepsy research in her honour.
Everyone at Glenalmond wishes Albert the very best as he takes on the North Coast 500, and we thank him for choosing to remember Clara in such a meaningful way.
