We are delighted to share the exciting news that the Old Glenalmond Golfing Society (OGGS) has won the prestigious Cyril Gray Tournament at Worplesdon Golf Club- marking a historic first for Glenalmond.
The Cyril Gray is a highly respected tournament for golfers aged 55 and over, open to alumni of the last 32 schools invited to compete in the renowned Halford Hewitt, widely considered the premier golfing competition among UK public schools. This year’s tournament saw OGGS triumph in a hard-fought final against Chigwell, with the match coming down to a decisive putt on the 18th hole. The winning moment came courtesy of John Gordon, a long-time stalwart of the OGGS, who confidently nestled his putt to secure victory.

This is a particularly significant win, as it marks the first time Glenalmond has won the Cyril Gray in its 55-year history- and indeed, the first major trophy won by the OGGS outside of Scotland, beyond their successes in the Scottish Wayfarers.
We send our heartfelt congratulations to the entire team on this incredible achievement. Their performance has not only made history, but also brought great pride to the Glenalmond golfing and OG community.
