We were thrilled to welcome OG Dougal Munro (Patchells 1965-1970) and his brother Neil Munro (Patchells 1963-1967) back to College recently for a visit full of reflection, reconnection, and fond memories.
Dougal kindly shared a lovely message afterwards, thanking everyone for the warm welcome — especially George Pounder, who took the time to show them around and revisit many of the familiar corners of Quad and Chapel.
“It was really delightful to be back in Chapel once again,” Dougal wrote. “I am so pleased that the tradition of chapel every day continues.”
The visit gave them a chance to reflect on their time at Glenalmond and the incredible staff who have shaped the experience for so many pupils over the years. Dougal also mentioned how much he enjoyed flicking through the Alumni Montium book presented during the visit: “So many familiar staff faces and their stories of dedication popped up right away.”
Although he won’t be able to join us for this year’s Commemoration on 28th June, Dougal passed on his thanks for the invitation and sent his very best wishes for the rest of the term — especially to our A Level pupils in the Classics Sixth.
He also shared the above fantastic photo from the day — a lovely reminder of the strength and spirit of our OG community.
