A determined team of Glenalmond College pupils and staff is preparing to take on the Doddie Grand Tour 2025, an epic endurance challenge in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. This event, inspired by rugby legend Doddie Weir, aims to raise vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research and is led by OG and Scottish Rugby legend, Rob Wainwright.

The Glenalmond team, pupils Oli R, Kerr B, Ewan F-L, Rory M, Scott M, George W F, Charlie H-A, and Jakob Z; and staff members Matthew Binnington, Ross Borthwick, Ed Hall, Marcus Holden, Tom Mason, Claire Singleton, Andy Todd, Padre Duncan Weaver, Paul Wilkinson, and the Warden, Mark Mortimer, will be putting their strength, stamina, and teamwork to the test as they cycle and run in this multi-stage challenge. With less than a week to go before they set off, they have been fine-tuning their preparations to ensure they are ready for the demands ahead.

In the lead-up to the challenge, the team had the privilege of meeting World Record Holder cyclist Josh Quigley and nutritionist Rosalie Collins, both from Glenalmond’s catering partners, Thomas Franks. Josh shared his expertise on endurance cycling and mental resilience, drawing from his own record-breaking experiences. Rosalie provided crucial nutritional advice on how to stay fuelled and healthy throughout the challenge. Their insights have given the Glenalmond team the tools they need to perform at their best.

The Doddie Grand Tour is a nationwide fundraising effort supporting the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. It challenges participants to push their limits while raising money for research into MND, a disease that Doddie Weir bravely fought.
