The annual Almondbank Golf Day returned to Glenalmond College this summer on the 15th August, bringing together friends, family and supporters for another fantastic day of golf, fun and fundraising.
Held in memory of Davie, the much-missed local man who inspired the event, the golf day raises money to support Guide Dogs and other charitable causes close to the group’s hearts. Over the years, the event has already helped sponsor several guide dogs, making a lasting difference in memory of a much-loved friend.
This year’s event was another huge success, with the team raising more than £6,000 through the various fundraising activities held throughout the day.
The organisers were also keen to thank Glenalmond College for its continued support, with the team commenting on the excellent condition of the course and how much they enjoyed returning to Glenalmond for the event.
There was, as always, plenty of fun alongside the serious fundraising. Two members of the group continued their annual tradition of dressing up - although this year they took things to a whole new level. Rather than simply dressing themselves up, they transformed their golf buggies into the shape of the vehicle that Davie drove for many years, creating a fantastic and very personal tribute to him.
The Almondbank Golf Day is a wonderful example of friendship, community spirit and remembering someone special by doing something positive in their name.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved on raising another incredible sum, and our thanks for choosing Glenalmond as the home of this special event. We look forward to welcoming the team back again next year.
