At the end of last term, Glenalmond College proudly hosted its first-ever mountain bike race, marking an exciting milestone with the completion of our new on-campus trail network.
The event took place on the recently finished Fraser Trail, the second section of our growing mountain bike facility, with its official opening set for this term.
The race welcomed pupils from eight schools, with over 80 young riders competing—60 in the U15 category and 20 in the U18 race. We were thrilled to see such energy, determination, and sportsmanship from all participants.
A special congratulations to the Glenalmond team, who clinched victory in the U18 category, showcasing both skill and team spirit on our challenging new terrain.
This exciting event follows the 2024 opening of the Thornburn Trail, launched by Old Glenalmondian and world champion Charlie Aldridge, and marks just the beginning of Glenalmond’s journey to becoming a leading venue for school-level mountain biking.
We look forward to welcoming more schools next year and establishing this race as an annual tradition in our outdoor adventure calendar.
